About 6227 Ranch
6227 Ranch was established to provide education, resources, hands-on training opportunities, and a safe, supportive sanctuary for both horses and people.
Founded by Josie, she brings extensive experience training horses for the public, where she specializes in mustangs, colt starting, and behaviorally complex horses. Through her work, she recognized a clear need for accessible education and structured support systems—not just for horses, but for the people working with them too.
At its core, 6227 Ranch is dedicated to bridging that gap.
In addition to training and educational programs, the ranch offers an owner surrender program that provides a humane, responsible option for individuals who are no longer able to care for their horses. Each horse is given the time, evaluation, and rehabilitation needed, with a focus on long-term well-being and successful placement.
Through clinics, seminars, volunteer opportunities, training services, rescue and rehabilitation efforts, 6227 Ranch is committed to improving the lives of horses while also empowering people too.
About the name
The name 6227 Ranch came from the first mustang Josie gentled, he was adopted from the BLM ( bureau of land management) with the numbers 6227 branded on his hip. Cisco has been a huge part of her journey and driving point to give more horses like him a chance at another life.
